Long Island
WELCOME
The Photographic Federation of Long Island is a voluntary non-profit organization of camera clubs from Nassau and Suffolk counties and the 5 boroughs of NYC and is dedicated to the enjoyment and advancement of photography.
The PFLI is a member of the Photographic Society of America
The Federation exchanges information between clubs at monthly delegate meetings and by way of this web page. Copies of the delegates minutes may be found on the web page.
The Federation holds monthly inter-club competitions from October through May plus an annual competition in June, the Leonard Victor Competition, to select the best photographs of the year. The winners of the Leonard Victor competition plus images that attained a perfect score at the monthly competitions may be seen on this web page. Everyone is invited to the competitions which are held at the Plainview-Old Bethpage Library, 999 Old Country Road, Plainview, NY.
The Federation also holds a number of special events including instructional seminars with leading experts in the fields of photography, digital photography and Photoshop as well as live photographic shoots. Please see the SCHEDULE page for a complete list.

The PFLI annual questionnaire for the 2009-2010 season is now available on line. The form, together with your club dues, should be submitted by September. The dues schedule together with mailing instructions are included on the form. To download a copy click HERE

A MESSAGE from our President
We have added a computer monitor and digital projector test image for your use at your club competitions. It is the same one we use to calibrate the digital projector for contrast at our PFLI competitions. Go to the LINKS AND FORMS page, right click the image and save it to your computer hard drive. Then project it just before your competition and adjust your projector if required.

The Great Neck Camera Club is pleased to present their 20th annual Photography Exhibit at the Great Neck Library ,159 Bayview Avenue, Great Neck, NY 11023 Phone # 516-466-8055. It will run until 9/11/2009
On Thursday 7/16 beginning at 7:30 pm there will be projected presentation “Jan Altes Photography” by Jan Altes (second place winner in Color Print A in this years Leonard Victor) and by Harvey Levine “Photo Charades”. On 7/23 Barry Wheatmen will present his “African Safari 2008”. Then on 8/6 “Costa Rica 2009” will be present by Gerald Appel. The Final projected presentation will be by Murray Leff on 8/13 titled “Photo-Journalism in Wartime”. All are open to public and all begin at 7:30
