Long Island
WELCOME
The Photographic Federation of Long Island is a voluntary non-profit organization of camera clubs and is dedicated to the enjoyment and advancement of photography.
The PFLI is a member of the Photographic Society of America
The Federation exchanges information between clubs at scheduled delegate meetings and by way of this web page. Copies of the delegates minutes may be found on the web page.
The Federation holds monthly inter-club competitions from October through May plus an annual competition in June, the Leonard Victor Competition, to select the best photographs of the year. The winners of the Leonard Victor Competition plus images that attained a perfect score at the monthly competitions may be seen on this web page. Everyone is invited to the monthly competitions which are held at the Plainview-Old Bethpage Library, 999 Old Country Road, Plainview, NY.
The Federation also holds a number of special events including instructional seminars by leading experts in the fields of photography, digital photography and digital processing as well as live photographic shoots. Please see the SCHEDULE page for a complete list.

SPECTACULAR!
That is probably the best word to describe the weekend starting on Saturday with the Award Presentations to the Third Annual Youth Showcase Winners which was attended by over 60 students, parents and teachers. Their images may be seen by clicking on the button on your right.
That was followed up on Sunday by a stunning presentation of portrait work by Parish Kohanen who still advocates getting it right in the camera. Over $3,000 worth of camera gear and software were raffled off after the lunch break including a Canon T3.
A number of PFLI Associate Awards for dedicated service to the PFLI were also presented. The recipents were Doris Sherr, Mike Sherr, Tom Crosley, Joe Pellicone, Marty Silverstein and Karen Newman. An Honorary Fellowship was awarded to Gary Farber of Hunts Photo for his many years of support of the PFLI.
